Golden land, Sarawak, Chapter 23

Golden Land, Chapter 23 , Strong Hill - Strong man

'I went to Immigration Department yesterday and met this diligent guy
who completed more than double of passport application cases as compare to the privilege group.'
Mr. S M Bong sounded very proud and happy. It was like he had done a patriotic act to Sarawak.

"Have you observed a man who is six foot tall ?" I teased him.

' Many women would fall in love with this type of handsome, hardworking man.
Oh yes, he has a charming smile.' Mr. Bong is keen to observe the natural beauty
of this world recently.

In this golden land, where people used to live together with many different type of races,
various skin colours, people from all corners fo the world, friends speaking in absolutely different
languages. the languages differed so much in a way that lovers finally used the most
way--use the common language, English.

It is not a problem at this modern day to translate various type of languages such as Swedish
to English, also easy with experts help with modern computer tool to achieve
a true and lovely stories in all languages.

That is the modern status of Sarawak, the golden land. People of Sarawak is all over the world now.

With the special advantage of multilingual, people of Sarawak traveled through out the whole world
.
There are experts in Spanish language, many work in Germany, Russia, Italy, France.

Speaking of France, almost all my friends think of perfume and wonderful LV ( Louis Vuiton)
leather bags. It is so attractive that a friend Mr. M Chai laughed when his wife bought 5
LV bags on the spot.

Mr. S. M. Bong interrupted my day dream as he happily raised his voice and he said,
' Rajah, King James Brooke was not a king yet when he sent his men to help the Gagoi village
near Bau town.'
' Due to historical war tradition.' Mr. bong tried to to put himself at a neutral position, as if he is sitting
on a tall wall watching 2 gangs fighting.' The Iban warriors attacked the Bidayu late 1838. that is why the strongest soldiers, fighters of the Bidayu tribe franked the head man and retreated to
Gagoi hill.'

'It is possible that the English fighters and the leaders of James Brooke respected the
Bidayu heros and suggested the name Mr. Hill to one of the strong fighters who save their chief
from being decapitated by the Iban warriors.'

" Was it true that three thousand three hundred people killed in a day with long knives
of Iban ? where on earth they got the knives" I asked hastilily as I was puzzled by the
stronger weapons demonstrated by the Iban group in 1838.

'They made their own parang, long knives. even today they still make wonderful sharp knives
but I bought small knife for my kitchen and garden. Good knives are frequently stolen.'

"Do you mean they are capable of making their own steel ? "

' There is a place at the foot of the hill of Damai Santubong, where an old man lives
alone for more than 60 years, His wooden house which he reparied frequently is
few hundred years old made of iron wood, Billian wood poles structure. He told me that
his ancester made wonderful steel with iron ore shipped in from China.'
Bong added.

" Why they did not import iron ore from Australia, England, Sweden ?" I tried to test him
by more question.

'You must be kidding, trade  established for thousand of years between Sarawak and China.
Do you remember the name Sarawak is originated from Chinese working on
Antimony metal in Sarawak.'

I was happy with his answer. I thought of Mr. Hill, the hard working, handsome, strong and fit fellow at the Kuching Immigration department. Good people are precious resources of Sarawak, no wonder this is a golden land.
