In the school today, there are 122 students, and out of 122 there are 105 native Iban students.
( Chinese, Iban, and other races are all naturalized Sarawakians); Linga Chung Hua Primary School
is helping 16 Chinese students and 98 Iban oprimary school students.

They all gain ability in language, culture( ability in living).
Education is another Gold-mine in Sarawak

Chapter Twelve , The Elastic Gold -- Rubber

Sarawak is also known as the land of the Hornbill birds
( Bumi Kenyalang ). The golden age of modern Kuching started with the construction of Kenyalang Park,
A new Township which centred all other satelite towns. The most ancient Kuching city is the Gambier Street.
A place next to Sarawak River, where Ban Hock wharf took the lead in all import and export since 1820.

By 1950, Kuching the Capital of Sarawak was a popular trading, education adn tourists centre.
That year 1950 was significant as Korean war triggered the boom of Rubber, pepper price.
Listed Singapore international trade Rubber price was 48 cents in early 1959, by June it reached 90 cents, then raised further to a dollar sixty cents. That was an increased of three times the Rubber price within a year for each pound ( Lb) of Rubber.
That was another golden period with another 'golden' product cultivated as cash crop in Sarawak.

Golden Land -- Sarawak , Chapter Eleven , Knowledge is power, gold

Golden Land  --  Sarawak  ;  Chapter  Eleven , knowledge is Gold

( written by Dr. J. Chong --Bed time story, consider fiction )

The Story of Giant Nugget made many people pondered why
the new community could survive at Mau San and Siniawan. That was the largest 'city' north of the mountain range of Borneo. It used to be Gedong town with seven thousand population, Gedong has a long history of link with Brunei and
used to have a sultan king from Brunei, where they sent the prince to Sadong River Basin where they collected lots of Gold Nuggets.

The relatively advance technology used by the leader S P Liew and his people in Mau San ( Bau) and Siniawan
proved that they survived with higher yield of gold, better housing, food production, proper management and fairly good accounting system to keep the area including different races of people living in harmony and peace.

The development of conflict between the Mau-San gold mine settlers( include Siniawan, some early settlers refered as local tribes) and the King James Brooke took months to established.

It is best to quote historian's view of Opium war that definately stirred up the emotional time bomb against the white King Rajah James Brooke). Many records showed that Rajah( king) James Brooke was a gentleman who got injury over leg and pelvic area which rendered him impotence physically but strong in ambition and kindness. He negotiated with the Iban tribes and rescued hundreds of women and children slaves after most of the Bidayuh men were killed at Jagoi in 1839. His portrait revealed every quality of a hero.

It was a different in interest and position that triggered the develpment of war between gold miners and king Brooke.
The second opium war from 1856 ended in 1860 with China defeated to dirt poor. It is easy to understand how the miners, mainly Chinese decendants and some Bidayuh relatives felt about the deterioting living condition.

One historian has a good idea about Opium war,  :

The foreigners were especially irritated by the high customs duties the Chinese forced them to pay and by the attempts of Chinese authorities to stop the growing import trade in opium. The drug had long been used to stop diarrhea, but in the seventeenth and eighteenth century people in all classes began to use it recreationally. Most opium came from Turkey or India, and in 1800 its import was forbidden by the imperial government. Despite this restriction, the opium trade continued to flourish. Privately owned vessels of many countries, including the United States, made huge profits from the growing number of Chinese addicts. The government in Peking noted that the foreigners seemed intent on dragging down the Chinese through the encouragement of opium addiction.

[See Opium Factory: The stacking room at an opium factory in Patna, India. Opium smuggling upset the balance of trade and destroyed China's economy.]

In the meantime, the empire faced other problems. The army became corrupt and the tax farmers defrauded the people. The central bureaucracy declined in efficiency, and the generally weak emperors were unable to meet the challenges of the time. The balance of trade turned against the Chinese in the 1830s, and the British decided to force the issue of increased trade rights. The point of conflict was the opium trade. By the late 1830s more than 30,000 chests, each of which held about 150 pounds of the extract, were being brought in annually by the various foreign powers. Some authorities assert that the trade in opium alone reversed China's formerly favorable balance of trade. In the spring of 1839 Chinese authorities at Canton confiscated and burned the opium. In response, the British occupied positions around Canton.

In the war that followed, the Chinese could not match the technological and tactical superiority of the British forces. In 1842 China agreed to the provisions of the Treaty of Nanking. Hong Kong was ceded to Great Britain, and other ports, including Canton, were opened to British residence and trade. It would be a mistake to view the conflict between the two countries simply as a matter of drug control; it was instead the acting out of deep cultural conflicts between east and west.

The French and Americans approached the Chinese after the Nanking Treaty's provisions became known, and in 1844 gained the same trading rights as the British. The advantages granted the three nations by the Chinese set a precedent that would dominate China's relations with the world for the next century. The "most favored nation" treatment came to be extended so far that China's right to rule in its own territory was limited. This began the period referred to by the Chinese as the time of unequal treaties - a time of unprecedented degradation for China. The humiliation the Central Kingdom suffered is still remembered and strongly affects important aspects of its foreign policy. Meanwhile, the opium trade continued to thrive.

The British and French again defeated China in a second opium war in 1856.

The miners had sufficient knowledge to find gold and earn a living. They set up schools, employed Bidayuh and tribe to work in the mines and housing construction. There were all sort of people doing various type of trade and took up all sorts of work with back up money from the gold. The community thrived.

Knowledge, skill, initiative and creativity is power, and gold.

Golden Land -- Sarawak Chapter Ten , Love Boat , Princess Gold

Golden Land --  Sarawak   Chapter Ten , Golden Princess -- Love Boats

Love Boats is a movie TV series of USA based on the Captain's story of Pacific Princess and Island Princess Cruise liner that carried thousands of holiday makers in love boats.

King Vyner's Brooke got his one million Stering Pound Trust money guaranteed by the British government and stayed in UK till he went to heaven in 1964. His eldest daughter Leonora Margaret Brooke, known to the press as princess Gold, made a noble alliance when she married the Earl of Inchcape, a P & O shipping tycoon.

TV movie series The Love Boat is based on the story of Island Princess cruise ship and pacific Princess, with ''Gopher'', Judy Kahan took part in the TV series. The Love boat captain is a loving guy.

Princess Gold had a dramatic life. She sat on gold. As quoted in the book written about the Queen Sylvia,

''
Sylvia's daughters, meanwhile, grew up with little in the way of boundaries and Sylvia was happy to live vicariously through them, relishing the fact that 'they never had to stand in a row of anxious virgins as I had done, waiting to be asked to dine or dance'. The 'dangerously beautiful' Brooke girls eventually married eight times between them; their various husbands included the 2nd Earl of Inchcape and the bandleader Harry Roy. According to cousin Anthony, their antics turned Sarawak into 'a music hall joke'. ''

Sarawak, the golden land was a love boat.

Golden Land-- Sarawak Chapter Nine, Trust is gold

Golden Land-- Sarawak
Trust is gold
After a serious thought, S M Bong has his point. Fortune always granted to the one who is prepared.
For many years my parents taught me that trust is the word for doing great business.
The last King of Sarawak was His Royal Highness Anthony Brooke. He actually ruled Sarawak in 1941 when Rajah Charles Brooke was away from sarawak. He got the official title of Rajah in the year 1964 when Vyner Brooke passed away in United Kingdom.
The king who fought for world peace and Democracy, Anthony Brooke, passed away peacefully on the 2nd of March 2011 in New Zealand.
He trusted the good nature of farmers from China, India, Indonesia, Malaya peninsula, Phillippines,Japan. Many Japanese, Europeans migrated to Sarawak for the fertile land, relatively peaceful environment as the world war was of no mercy in Europe, mainly Asia, Africa, middle East and many parts of the world. My grand father Champion Chong arrived Kuching, Sarawak in the year 1938 during king Vyner Brooke's time, then his royal highness was the Rajah Muda, literally the heir to the throne.
The officer trusted my grand father and let him circled an area of one hundred and six acres of land at the fertile land of seaside Green mountain, an area called ' Sui Tong Lu' that is the road leading to the reservoir damp built by the German engineer with brief period of first mini-hydro electricity in Sarawak. The German scientist left Sarawak during the second world war. However my grand father Champion Chong( alias Chong Kian )stayed put and produced tons and tons of rubber to match with the boom of new golden crop- Rubber. The price of rubber was the highest in history during the Korean war. Champion Chong made tons of money and then loss it eventually.
How he loss most of his fortune was a dramatic story. He was in partnership with a friend to deal with import and export business. During the crimax of second world war, Australian Royal Air force andDutch Air force frequently bombed Japanese ships and boats around borneo island. One of the cargo ship used by Champion Chong's company was told to be sunk by allied bomber on the 17th of September 1948 at 7 pm 30 kilometres north of Santubong mountain and river mouth.
The messengers from his business partner told Champion Chong that the textile and valuable goods which they invested were perished in that airforce bombing and perished in fire together with the ship. Champion was extremely calm as he always presented with with British brown wool hat, looking straight into the eyes of that messenger. The messenger dropped his head and looked at the floor. He was asked by Champion Chong to have moon cake and Kwang Yin tea as he managed to collect himself and finally sat on a rottan arm chair.
It was a cool mid autumn night with full bright moon. Champion Chong asked a few question and didnot pursue any more about the blighted fortune. Two days later, his best friend reported to him that the ship was anchored at a secret place and all the valuable good were at 32 miles Serian road. Champion thanked him and got him to dinner, then he said,
' If my partner with all my trust like gold did those to me, then I better trust the bright moon.'
He withdrew the original three thousand Reals, currency of King Brooke time, which was the amount each partner of the two agreed to start with their joint venture. There were no gain, no interest, but at least the original capital after ten years. It was told that his partner made a hudred time profit which is equavalent to three hundred thousand within that ten years. The ' good' businessman and his family continue to proper till modern era of Sarawak.
Trust is golden, peace is gold

Chapter Eight--Health is golden

Morning has just broken at 6:38 am when a one metre windspan elegant Hornbill flew peacefully above the
silky Sarawak River. It was a moment of dream awken with satisfaction after a sweet night sleep.
Kuching of Sarawak is a place where people recognised paradise.
A friend Miss G Lam ordered a cup of white Tea with half spoon of sugar which was very slimming conscious. She used to wake up early and patronize the Nan Fan Cafe with hand made Kolomee ( in Hokkian language means sauced mee without soup). She volunteered her rescent problem of severe headache which is always linked to monthly periodic physiological event. She said in Mandarin that the headache usually attacked her for two days but this round was really bad. She finally admitted that her habit of internet work till 1 am, multiple cup of English tea, lack of utmost care from her boy friend ( her boy friend works in Shell Petroleum company, off shore Drilling in South China Sea), worry of his safety with news of South Sea oil field conflick, bad news of Iran military exercise and fluctuating crude oil price.
La lina effect that caused flood in Thailand affected her most since she is a five star group leader in international tourism. All the reasons she quoted pointed to one golden aim, that is she need appropriate management of time, money, and put health as priority.
It is important to have balance family life. Those who have never started any matrimonial sex life may be able to stay innocent and be able to keep cool and calm, in contrast a highly educated Sarawakian ( Sarawak people usually proudly stated that Sarawakians are truely international, multilingual, well balance human being). Those who have good experience with sex should cooperate with nature and let the flowers bloom like the wonderful April Spring season.
The latest good news is good health, turn in to sleep before mid-night, really promote sweet dream and a balance family life. Health is gold, that is a model gift to the world from the golden land---Sarawak.

Chapter Seven

We asked for a pot of hot tea after the wonderful meal.
' Do you think the European during Rajah period ever drink excellent green tea like
this one' S M Bong refered to the Brooke kingdom period. East India company of India produced alot of Englsih Breakfast tea which is frequently enforced with milk and sugar.

' The gold miners drank only green tea or Ulong tea. Those miners went to Sambas ( Singkawang at present)
must have a good time with nutritious food and excellent tea produced from the rich vocanic soil of Indonesia.
They faced the oppression from the Dutch goverment during that period.' He added.

The following years after the Spring festival ( Chinese New year) they had grand ritual procession to respect the
temple then returned to work in Mau San ( modern Bau town) to accumulate more gold.' He is thinking of ancient hero Liew and his group.' That city, Mau San , was the largest city in Sarawak. I mean the population should be more than eight thousand people staying around Siniawan and Mau San.' His eyes is bright and shinning with excitement.

'There were one hundred shops with many houses around that area. I think the name Siniawan should be Hakka phrase of Kim Jau Wan, that is in line with the location of that meandering river turning south east, consit of gold mine and refinery.' and Mau San in Hakka means properity mountain.' He stood up suddenly and stretched out his hands,

' They have relatively modern photography studio like those shown in Shanghai. The goldsmiths were first class craftsmen'

'Have you seen the prosperous feature during your childhood' I interrupted with curiousity.

'I have seen Bau and Siniawan during1950 s . It was quiet there, and I should say it was really sad to see so many shops were not operating and only few old people and children stayed in a once prosperous town of Siniawan.'

However, the 50 plus good condition shop houses got pipe water supply long before most  of the capital city Kuching  houses. There was electricity generator that provide modern electricity in that ancient'city'. 'He recalled monthly payment of water charges and fixed electricity payment of ten dollars to a young man Mr. O who represent the gold mines tycoon

I asked two elderly wise men who used to lived in Bau and Siniawan area, and they confirmed the prosperous golden town was true. I have determined to research more facinating facts about the golden land.

Princess Gold
S M Bong urged me to join him for dinner in Kuching, the Capital of Sarawak. I remember one of the best restaurant introduced by my good friend P P Goh is Sing Zui Siang ( literally means fresh leafy green and Siang means best Aroma ). That sounds like a good place to get a goumet with nice taste and delicate aroma.
We have chosen a corner cotton sofa which is just firm and comfortable. We ordered Zui Siang Tofu, shich is steamed soft bean curd with seaweed with fantastic sauce, which left the best blended taste lingered around the taste buds for hours.
He stopped drinking and eating, then lowered his voice to a wispering tone.
' That huge Gold nugget must be more than a hundred kilograms. It is easy to calculate, isn't it.' He didnot wait for my answer.
' It is best to say fortune and luck picked those who were prepared for it' he waved his head left and right as I could feel that he wanted to sigh but I heard nothing but his sudden addition of comments.
' That huge lump of gold should have a metal chern with best rope to carry it hundred of feet from the pit. It was stupid not to use those old rope and baskets and non of them withstood the heavy precious metal. What a waste ! ! !' He muttered ' with the sound cheeet cheeet cheeet.' ( that sound produced traditionally by the local people by the putting the tongue over the inner edge of the upper gum and teeth, then suck together with the tongue just like the tender loving kiss )

One would notice such beautiful culture as the local naturalized people automatically share the empathy with the ' Cheeet cheeet cheeet sound ' as they regret the loss fortune. Usually they would persit with some comfort then proceed to their work, and hope for a better future.
S M Bong rasied up his voice after a short day dreaming,
'Those days the Rajah Brooke taken away a lot of money. Every head or person in all house holds was taxed four Reals ( Currency amount used during King Brooke period. You see !'
His favorite expression of ' you see' if he is really keen on that subject.
I could not help but interrupt him by stating that Governor Makota from Brunei Sultan charged higher annual tax per capital.
' That was like head hunting by collecting cash which was very difficult for the remote country side people. They could pay in poultry, eggs, coconut or Durian ( a type of fruit claimed to be of utmost nutritious value), but how could they charged them 4 reals in cash. Ehh, you see....the gold miners got double tax as half the harvest would be taxed again.'
I nodded my head to agreed with his general remark of money collected as I learned that after the second world war, King Vyber Brooke ( Rajah Vyner Brooke ) ceded Sarawak Kingdom to the British government at a price of one million Sterling pounds trust to his benefit to exchanged for British control of more than two million pounds, sent from Sarawak to British bank ( estimate much more sent to UK duringthe one hundred over years of Brooke family control in Sarawak). That was a lot of money since the population of Sarawak in 1859 was less than twenty thousand people. In 1867 USA bought Alska from Russia at the price of seven million and two hundred thousand US dollars.
I signaled to S M Bong, pointing at the fantastic looking dishes and I said,
' It is getting cold, let us try some good thing. It is best to hit the iron while it is hot'

Gold Cow ( fiction story)

Golden Cow Sarawak

Chapter one

Sarawak was a beautiful country. It was protected by United Kingdom officially just like the the pretty country Brunei.

She is gorgeous now with thousands square kilometres of man made lakes. Tiny percentage of beautiful, elegant tropical forest that is protected by natural mountain range of the northern part of Borneo island.

Borneo island is like a shape of chicken nugget. This is the best paradise in the world. The ladies of Karabit county is fair, gentle. They smile like the morning sun, beaming through the misty canopy of the luxury yellowish green of tree tops, extending the loving gesture towards the rich juicy mature green of the main tropical forest. It is the main body of Sarawak.......a country on Borneo island.

It was great to see my friend Mr. S M Bong( Siew Ming Bong)after 10 years of absent, like the evaporation of the mountain mist, hejust naturally disappeared in the mountain of Sarawak. He looks exactly the same as he smiled broadly and talked staccato violin style with compassion.

The story of the Gold Cow ( that was the natural glittering gold nugget found by the hard working people of Bau town. It was/is as huge as a cow, thus the name gold cow) stirred up the air again.

We are having 22 degrees Celcius cool air condition in a secret Restaurant. While the workers are sweating repairing the tar surface road next to the restaurant. After a cup of Robusta branded coffee, the best coffee in the world, he dreamed of that gold cow again. He must have dreamed of that shinning metal all the time, where he landed. He is always happy and optimistic. His trade mark or motto is ' No Problem...nnng' ( nnng, ng sound like ernest with out est).

He repaeted tha to me again. I enjoy this type of bed side story type of environment. That remind me of my late mum, respectable madam Jong Ah Moo( Jong is the sir name). She used to sang and tell story and the best I remember is the poem:

' Yet Kong Kong, Hok Chung Kiong
Kiong monk Bong, Hok zoo Tong

Tong monk june, hok tak loong
Loong Chi guay, kiam he my
my though sum teal chien..........(  Golld Cow Sarawak , chapter one , page 1)

Chapter Two
Kuching Sarawak

The best coffee of the world. I met this genius Mr. Y Y Cheng, who presents with broad smile 99% of all encounters in various places in Kuching. He is crazy in upgrading quality coffee. Natural and pure fragrance with dreamy aroma is the best description for his coffee. Sarawak is shaded by lots of coconut trees along the sea side since ancient time. The mass increase of coconut plantation cum coffee plantation started 30 years ago.

Initially the farmers drank Arabica coffee which is offering a full body yet sour ending. The reason is the hot and humid climate even though there are patches of cool shade especially in coconut plantations and forest sheltered area.
The cool breeze during winter of north hemisphere is a gift to the coffee plant. In this case mainly the Arabica coffee.

Recently, there are famers planting Robusta species coffee. Full body, smooth, gentle and lasting aroma is the beauty of this coffee.

I learned from Mr. Y Y Cheng and brended my own coffee. The best coffee is available with immediate roasting at optimum temperature with five stars stainless stell roller or roaster. The moment one grind the coffee seed, people around the site would turn their head, turn their nose, and lift up their ears to detect any possible clue of the source. It is fun to learn coffee appreciation art. One would enjoy coffee by trying different flavour especially golden chern butter, a tidy bit of double cream, first class brown sugar which should be your choice to adjust the quantity. It is wonderfully sweet. Really everyone should try different first class aroma, taste luring product. It is true in life. You have to try the best.

One special clue of nice coffee is using bone China, make it hot by hot water rinsing then make a really hot coffee. Then everythin is beautifully hot.

As Mr. S M Bong and me sipping, sniffing through with the brended Robusta, he cannot help but dreaming of Gold Cow. I reminded him there are many golden things in life. A poor man enjoy golden age with hardworking lawyer son helping him all the time in his horticulture hobbies. My neighbouring lady laughing all the time with grandchildren more precious than gold. No body should blam Mr. S M Bong. The image of Gold Cow is deep in his heart.

As he visualized the Gold Cow, he told me the year 1852, a spectacular city town knowned as Siniawan. There are lots of rich residual artifacts visible in this town till this very day..  At Siniawan  the largest houses is built the Ong family .I viewd the house 20 years ago. It was huge and there was a sense of tranquility for any people participating around solid house of concrete foundation.

The afternoon sun of 21 December 1852 was really a torch from the sky. The muscular gold miners were digging with all their might. The iron tools hit the hard rock with
banging sound echoing throughout the west hill.

It was really tough to work under the hot sun, especially they were working in a very deep excavation 188 feet below the surrounding hill surface. Y C Lee ( Jun Choy Lee, Lee is the sir name) glaced quickly at the leader Mr. Liew S P rescent working post. Mr. Liew was a man of iron. 180 centimetres tall, well built and always presented a calm and steady look. He was a kind leader who shared the choir.

The shower rain was unusually heavy compare to previous year. The wind was getting stronger and after many days of rain, every where was muddy and slippery. there was a mouldy smell in the air.

Suddenly J C Lee saw a shinning flash of glittering image which was like a dream to him. He felt his heart pumping. For years of gold mine working experience told him that there was something precious right in front of him. He swiftly stroke another three firm digging with his Rooster Brand hoe fixed to a solid Red Cedar wood. Inspite of the rain he felt the salty sweat flowed from his forehead. Another quick stroke owith the hoe....
'G o l d        c o w ....... goldd... goldddd.....cowWW ! '

j c Lee could not tolearate the suspense and shouted with trembling voice. It was a great moment for him. He was lucky as his mind raced through all his childhood of Guan Dong origin. He could not help the mind drifted back to 38 years ago, his father told him to be a man at 20 years old. He travelled by junk boat which carried 200 people from San Tao to Singapore, then to Kuching by another much smaller boat His mind drifted to the image of his beautiful first wife in Chao Zao of Southern China. He could finally get enough money to bring his second native Bidayu wife to China and settle there for good. He stroke gold. A gold Cow.

Lee's mind was racing like a wild horse. He was wondering whether his first wife would accept his Bidayu second wife. He thought of thousands of things within that period of climax.

Every body including the leader Mr. S P Liew rushed to the site which was two third from the centre of the great gold mine. He was facing south. He felt like a king facing south. That was always the best direction for any good northern hemisphere houses too, over looking the south.
anyway, the leader Liew kneeled and touched the solid gold. It was unearthed with the hands of many workers. The wole mine was filled with cheers, excitement. Some stood at the edge of the mine as there was not much room to stand in that muddy mine after days of rainning. The on and off sunshine peeked through the dark cloud.
Leader Liew commanded. ' Ruler '
His assistant  Ah F Ng said ' oh' and quickly moved as if awaken from a sweet dream. He was a clever man who flattered leader Liew at the right time and gained his trust.

Ah F Ng handed over a cloth ruler and it measured three feet eight inches( measurement used during Ching dysnasty, equavalent to 68 cm length). the mud water came from every corner and before they realsied the danger, half the gold nugget was covered with mud and water.

' move...and be quick. Get the rope and best rotan basket from the store.' Leaser Liew thundered.

The largest Cane basket with rope tied repeatedly to the handle of the basket.

'Give a bit of room. Now J C,  come over here. come closer .'

J C Lee was day dreaming and he could not do any thing as he was pushed by the crowd to 10 feet away from his catch-- the Gold Cow.

'
Touch it, J C' The leader called his name but not the sir name as it was proper for him to called that way as he spoke to any of  his subordinates.

Mr. J C Lee moved swiftly tothe Gold nugget with broad smile. He touched the gold nugget infront of the leader to signify his right of discovery and entitled to have ten percent of the worth. The leader would have half the share of that gold dound, then he would distribute to his assitant, his body guards and his fourteen group prefects. He had never been to any accounting course and never dream of university, but he kept good figure in a tidy book.

That day the team tried many baskets, many types of ropes with numerous attempt. The gold slipped back to the mine and the mud got more messy and the miners got werry.

It was dark that night and they put up kerosene lamps, flickling torches which were no much of use to fight against the gusting wind which accompanied heavy rain.

The water level rasied and the workers left the pit. The mine was dark and the bottom filled with water.

The next day, those workers guarding the pit and the invisible Gold Cow shivered in the rain and was ordered to take warm water bath and hot porridge. Some prefered orasted rice which was prepared by roasting the precooked and dried rice in hot sand.( Few family boiled that type of rice in hot oil and fried to the right goumet as known as Pu-Mi).

It was in vain as th water level kept rising and the rain poured down from the gloomy sky. for 6 days, the heavy rain continued and the river of Bau( it was not known as Bau town, the name was                    )and Siniawan swollen to the side of the green hill and crawed towards the foot of the Siniawan mountain. Finally by the 7th day, the rian stopped. those who stayed in Siniawan city( in 1852 Siniawan was a relatively large city compare to 3738 people of Kuching, 7688 people of Gedong basin)
were found to be safe at the top of the community mountain( Cemetery groud called Gung Si San, Gung Si means company or belong tot he community as they spoke in Hakka language )

For one whole week, the whole gold miners community were depressed. Women cuddled their children and grouped into various flower pattern-like school of people. They talked sofely as the leader  S P Liew was thinking with plan to be announced soon.

' Let us moved to Sam Kap to prepare for Chinese New year' the leader spoke to all the prefects and ten wise elders.' We will come back after Chinese New year next year. '  Liew pronounced.

That year was a year of moderate harvest. J C Lee did not full fill his dream of going back to China to build a new mansion. He thought of finding that Gold Cow again next uear. ' May be I could dive and get hold of that gold Cow.' Lee told himself.

There was hope...there was alwsys a great sense of hope that kept the people united and continue their deligent work in the gold mines.

The centre business zone of Kuching, Sarawak is covered with new and old artistic building. Scattered over an area of 108 square kilometres. The centre is surrounded by first ring roads linked mainly by Green Road as the centre equator like imaginary space of Kuching. Franked by the first outer ring road such as Jalan( means road) Setia Raja, airport road, Jalan Stephen Yong, Baru Kawa road. There are outlets with door like spring of montain water catchment. The outlet linked to Bau over south west. Travel via south south east lead to the main road join to Sri Aman, then Batang Air Hydro electricity and the first great man-made lake.

The centre area of Kuching is full of life. The hottest months coincide with the hottest events of Dragon boat festival, now known as great Regatta, the boat race for peace.

Fiction ( + fabulous legend) GOLD COW SARAWAK

Golden Cow Sarawak

Chapter one

Sarawak was a beautiful country. It was protected by United Kingdom officially just like the the pretty country Brunei.

She is gorgeous now with thousands square kilometres of man made lakes ( Bakun). Tiny percentage of beautiful, elegant tropical forest, which is protected by natural mountain range of the northern part of Borneo island.

S M Bong( Siew Ming Bong)after 10 years of absent, like the evaporation of the mountain mist, he just naturally disappeared in the mountain of Sarawak. He looks exactly the same as he smiled broadly and talked staccato violin style with compassion.

The story of the Gold Cow ( that was the natural glittering gold nugget found by the hard working people of Bau town. It was/is as huge as a cow, thus the name gold cow) stirred up the air again.

We are having 22 degrees Celsius cool air condition in a secret Restaurant.

He repeated that to me again. I enjoy this type of bed side story type of environment. That remind me of my late mum, respectable madam Jong Ah Moo( Jong is the sir name). She used to sang and tell story and the best I remember is the poem:

' Yet Kong Kong, Hok Chung Kiong
Kiong monk Bong, Hok zoo Tong

Tong monk june, hok tak loong
Loong Chi guay, kiam he my
my though sum teal chien........

Greetings from Dr. James chong, 40a Jalan Mendu, Kuching

Merry Christmas and happy new year soon. 2012....year of Dragon....my year

Thanks for the nice script written for nature's understanding. That usually happen in a farm type of cow and bull relationship.

By nature, it end up similar as the female naturally would follow the natural rules of selection and let the males fight... a slower and tedious process. then end up one bull each time with female. Eventually after months and years. Some female animals managed to have more than one male for reproduction like the Dolphin. While primates, Heron birds tends to be monogamy.

Polygamy like the story of see see see see is sensible, for example the densely populated China and Taiwan. Most city dwellers depends on money or wealth to determine which male got the power to get more females. Woman may ask for house, cash, Lexus or other nice car before any 'benefit' granted. Then the one with more money stand a better chance.

Glad that Borneo island is well balanced. A friend praised the 'pure' sincere Sarawakians. True love happens in Sarawak and most part of Borneo.

Congratulation.

Regards from Dr. James

Heart Attack Accident, that gentleman was at Kuching Airport 19th Dec 11

The mentioned heart attack case seen by me happened at 17:20 hour at Kuching International Airport.

Right infront of the Diamoney Diamon Centre, where a friend was talking to me. We felt the vibration and heard the loud noise at the same time as that sick gentleman fell to the ground.

Angels in Kuching Airport

"Suddenly he fell while he was walking towards the passport checking point."

The lady duty free perfume promoter said asfter she witness the incidence.

" I heard a loud noise and felt the floor vibrated as his head( Occipital, back of his head) hit the Italian
solid Ceramic tile ."

Many people rashed to help. I turned the victim to a side, let him re-captured good airway flow.
A old lady helped to released his tight shoes. I asked the security guard to call for hospital Emergency Ambulance service......

Learned from the victim's relatives and friends that 6 of them travelled from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching. He used to have heart problem. At 62 years old. Heart problem developed such sudden attack.( If stroke, usually gradually developing nausea and weakness)

The best thing to do is prevention. Also remember to take food and drink before and after an air flight to ensure good nutrition( energy supply) fluid and Oxygen. Wishing  you a healthy and happy new year.
